JayaBharathy - Writer, Director and Producer

With a background in Tamil literature writing, 'Kudisai' JayaBharathy as been involved in the Alternate cinema movement in TamilNadu and THE HINDU - The National News Daily, even once called him in its write up as the FATHER OF ALTERNATE CINEMA in TamilNadu. Infact, people recognize him, better as 'Kudisai' JayaBharathy, more than his real name JayaBharathy. 

JayaBharathy is a graduate from Madras University.He has written more than 60 short stories which have been published in all the leading weeklies of TamilNadu. One of his short stories has been included in an anthology titled 'THE HUNDRED BEST TAMIL SHORT STORIES OF THIS CENTURY'. 

He has also directed Research oriented documentaries for Indian Institute of Indian Languages - Mysore which comes under Ministry of Human Resources - Govt.Of.India - NEW DELHI. 

JayaBharathy is 65 years of age and lives in Chennai. 

PUTHRAN

'PUTHRAN' film is produced under the banner Chaitanya Movies. It is established by JayaBharathy with an aim to make meaningful and message oriented good cinema which can be enjoyed by everybody.

The message in PUTHRAN is CHILD LABOUR and CHILD ABUSE which is very rampant in the society. PUTHRAN is JayaBharathy's seventh film.
